Description
Our verdict: Good value if you have several areas to cover. Six traps let you set the ‘more traps, closer together’ approach that actually clears mice, rather than relying on one or two. The plastic body is easy to clean and reuse, and you never touch the mouse. They’re best for mice; for rats, use a heavier trap.
Best for: kitchens, lofts and garages with several active areas | Pack: 6 | Poison: none
What are these 6-pack mouse traps?
They’re plastic snap traps with a powerful stainless-steel spring and a very sensitive trigger. The manufacturer says they respond to as little as 0.025lb (around 11g) of weight, which matters because mice are light and cautious. You put the bait in the cup and press the tail down to set them.
They’re made from washable ABS plastic, so they don’t absorb smells the way wooden traps do. That makes them reusable season after season.
How to use them properly
- Find the runs. Look for droppings, gnaw marks and greasy smudges along skirting boards, behind the cooker and fridge, and under sinks.
- Place traps at right angles to the wall, with the bait end against the skirting, because mice run along edges.
- Use several traps, 1–2 metres apart, in every area with signs.
- Bait lightly with a pea-sized dab of peanut butter or chocolate spread. Too much lets mice lick it off without triggering the trap.
- Check daily, wearing gloves, and keep trapping for a week after the last catch. Then seal entry gaps with proofing mesh.

Frequently asked questions
How many mouse traps should I use?
More than you think. Pest controllers often set traps 1–2 metres apart along every wall with signs of activity. Six is a good starting number for a kitchen.
What’s the best bait for mouse traps?
Peanut butter or chocolate spread, in a pea-sized amount pressed into the bait cup. Seeds and oats work too.
Will these traps catch rats?
They’re designed for mice. Rats are much heavier and stronger, so use a rat-sized trap.
Why aren’t my traps catching anything?
Usually placement: traps in the open rather than along walls. Move them to where droppings are freshest, and leave them a few days. Mice are wary of new objects. See traps everywhere and still getting mice?.
