What is Combat Ant Killing Gel?
Combat Ant Killing Gel is a bait gel in a precision syringe. It contains fipronil, an insecticide that works slowly enough for worker ants to carry it back to the nest and share it with the colony, including the queen and larvae. The gel has a high water content, which ants find attractive, so they feed on it readily.
The manufacturer says it controls ants in as little as 3–5 days, with fipronil starting to work within hours. Because it’s a gel rather than a station, you can put it right into the cracks, gaps and entry points where ants are coming from.
How to use it properly
- Find the entry points. Follow the trail back to the crack, gap or hole the ants are using.
- Apply small dots, about the size of a lentil, in and beside the crack. Several small dots beat one big blob.
- Leave the ants alone. Don’t spray or wipe the trail while they’re feeding.
- Top up any dots that have been eaten after a few days.
- Keep it away from food-preparation surfaces, out of reach of children and pets, and never apply it near drains or watercourses.
